Last Updated: August 26, 2026

M&E Computers ("M&E Computers," "we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting the personal information entrusted to us. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, disclose, and protect personal information when you visit our website, schedule an appointment, contact us, or obtain computer repair, technical support, data recovery, data migration, data transfer, or other services from us.

By using our website or providing information to M&E Computers, you acknowledge the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

1. Information We Collect

We may collect information directly from you when you contact us, schedule an appointment, visit our store, or request services.

Information Provided Through Our Website

When you schedule an appointment or contact us through our website, we may collect:

  • Full name

  • Email address

  • Telephone number

  • Appointment date and time

  • Information you voluntarily provide regarding the reason for your appointment or requested service

  • Information collected through CAPTCHA or similar security technologies used to prevent spam, abuse, and automated submissions

We do not intentionally request sensitive personal information through our website unless it is reasonably necessary for the service you have requested.

Information Collected During In-Store Services

When you bring a computer, laptop, phone, storage device, or other electronic device to M&E Computers for diagnosis, repair, upgrade, data recovery, migration, extraction, or another service, we may collect information necessary to identify you, communicate with you, and perform the requested service.

This may include:

  • Full name

  • Telephone number

  • Device make, model, serial number, or other identifying information

  • Information regarding the condition or symptoms of the device

  • Device PINs, passwords, or other access credentials when necessary to perform an authorized service

  • Information regarding the requested repair or service

  • Other information voluntarily provided by you in connection with the service

2. How We Use Personal Information

We use personal information for legitimate business and service-related purposes, including:

  • Diagnosing and repairing devices

  • Performing hardware upgrades and replacements

  • Performing data recovery, migration, transfer, or extraction services

  • Communicating with customers regarding their devices and requested services

  • Scheduling and managing appointments

  • Providing estimates, invoices, and service updates

  • Processing transactions and maintaining business records

  • Preventing fraud, spam, abuse, and unauthorized activity

  • Maintaining and improving our website and services

  • Complying with applicable legal and regulatory requirements

  • Protecting the rights, property, and safety of M&E Computers, our customers, employees, and others

We do not use customer information for purposes unrelated to the services requested or the legitimate operation of our business unless otherwise disclosed or permitted by law.

3. Access to Customer Data During Repairs and Services

Some computer repair and technical services necessarily require our technicians to access information stored on a customer's device.

For example, data recovery, data migration, data transfer, and data extraction services may require access to files, folders, applications, or other information stored on a device.

M&E Computers follows a principle of limited and necessary access.

Our technicians will access customer files and information only to the extent reasonably necessary to diagnose, repair, configure, recover, migrate, transfer, or otherwise perform the service that the customer has requested and authorized.

We do not intentionally search through, review, copy, or access personal files or information that is unrelated to the service being performed.

However, customers acknowledge that certain services may inherently expose technicians to personal information contained within files, folders, storage devices, applications, or operating systems while performing the requested work.

4. Device PINs, Passwords, and Access Credentials

Certain services may require a device PIN, password, administrator credential, or other access credential.

When a customer provides such information to M&E Computers, we use the credential only as reasonably necessary to perform the requested and authorized service.

Customers should provide only the credentials necessary for the requested service and should notify M&E Computers if access to particular information or accounts is not authorized.

Where reasonably practical, customers are encouraged to change passwords or other credentials after service, particularly where a credential provides access to sensitive accounts or information.

M&E Computers does not sell or intentionally disclose customer passwords or access credentials to third parties except where disclosure is required by law or reasonably necessary to complete an authorized service.

5. Storage and Retention of Customer Information

Customer and service information may be maintained electronically for purposes such as service records, customer communication, accounting, warranty support, business administration, and legal compliance.

Certain customer information may be stored using third-party cloud-based services and business software.

We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, including providing services, maintaining appropriate business records, resolving disputes, enforcing agreements, and satisfying legal obligations.

Where information is no longer reasonably necessary for these purposes, we may delete or securely dispose of it in accordance with our business practices and applicable law.

6. Data Destruction and E-Waste Recycling

Customers may voluntarily leave obsolete computers, hard drives, solid-state drives, storage devices, or other electronic equipment with M&E Computers for e-waste recycling or disposal.

When a customer explicitly designates a storage device or device for e-waste recycling, the customer authorizes M&E Computers to permanently destroy the data stored on that device.

Storage devices designated for recycling may undergo a data destruction process that includes data wiping followed by physical destruction of the storage device.

Physical destruction may include breaking or smashing the storage device so that it can no longer reasonably be used to access the information stored on it.

Once a storage device has been physically destroyed, the data contained on it may no longer be recoverable.

Customers should not leave a device with M&E Computers for recycling if they intend to retain access to information stored on that device.

Customers are responsible for informing M&E Computers if a device contains information they wish to preserve before authorizing recycling or destruction.

7. Information We Share With Third Parties

M&E Computers does not sell customer personal information as part of our ordinary business operations.

We may disclose or provide access to personal information to third-party service providers when reasonably necessary to operate our business or provide requested services.

These providers may include services used for:

11. Customer Responsibility for Backups

Customers are responsible for maintaining appropriate backups of their important data before providing a device to M&E Computers for repair or service.

While we take reasonable care when handling customer devices and data, repair, hardware failure, software failure, data corruption, pre-existing damage, or other unforeseen circumstances can result in data loss.

Customers requesting data recovery, migration, transfer, or extraction services should understand that successful recovery or preservation of data cannot always be guaranteed.
